This conference on nutrition scheduled for Monday 15th June 2015, promises to be an invaluable opportunity for all those involved in nutrition in Ethiopia to meet and exchange ideas, from a very practical perspective as well as from solid research. Aside from networking, the purpose of the conference is to present the most recent evidence on nutritional issues in Ethiopia, and with international evidence too, as well as to contribute to the ongoing policy debate on how to tackle this life-threatening topic.
The conference presents a chance to meet with people involved in policy making, research, donors and implementers. It is organized by IFPRI (jointly by Transform Nutrition and Ethiopia Strategy Support Program.
The range of topics included in the conference will encompass:
- Conceptual thinking about how nutrition can be transformed
- Direct nutrition interventions
- Linking nutrition to other sectors such as agriculture, social protection and gender
- New horizons for social science research on nutrition such as the impact of seasonality, remoteness and aspirations
