The Ethiopia Strategy Support Program (ESSP) of IFPRI and the Ethiopian Economics Association (EEA) organized three short term trainings on; Census and Survey Processing System (CSPRo), Introduction to GIS (with applications to the livestock sector) and Efficiency and Productivity Analyses (with applications to the livestock sector), from July 25-27, 2018 for members of the Ethiopian Economics Association. The CSPRo training, which was attended by forty two people over the course of three days was intended to introduce participants to the Census and Survey Processing System and engage them to understand the basics of data entry using CSPRo software. The course took the participants in an active process of learning the basics of CSPRo. The aim of the training is for the participants to gradually learn how to use the software and apply it in their work. You can download the training manual here.
The three days GIS training aimed at acquainting the target participants in using GIS software proficiently with applications to the livestock sector. Thirty five participants learned methods and techniques to use immediately in their work/research.
The Efficiency and Productivity Analysis course which was attended by thirty five people provided an accessible introduction to some important concepts such as production economics, production technology, productivity and efficiency.
